DraftSight is suitable for any industry requiring a 2D editing and publishing program. Some typical applications include - electrical layouts, floor plans for housing, architectural drawings, mechanical detail drawings, laser cutting paths and more.

Yes, you can open files created in many other programs within DraftSight. DWGs and DXFs are the most commonly used file formats for 2D files, but there are many other file types that DraftSight can handle, such as PDFs in DraftSight Premium or Enterprise.

DraftSight Enterprise is a floating, networked version of 2D CAD. It can be used on multiple machines, but a single license cannot be used concurrently. You can add multiple licenses to a network.

DraftSight is user-friendly and for those who have experience with 2D CAD systems, has the same key functionalities you would require of a professional software.

DraftSight is fully capable of handling common 2D file formats such as .dwg, .dxf, and .sat (ACIS). Raster image file types which can also be used within DraftSight include .pdf, .bmp, .png, .jpg, and .svg.

DraftSight comes in 4 versions - Professional, Premium, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus.

Enterprise versions give full licensing flexibility as they are networked and therefore can be used on mulitple machines.

Premium and Enterprise Plus expand the rich capabilities to include 3D tools and parametric constraints.
